An early look at using data patterns to understand how nurses navigate and document in the electronic health record.
This early-stage poster explored how sequential pattern analysis could reveal the way nurses navigate and document in the electronic health record (EHR). It was preliminary work in a line of research that later grew into the lab’s computational ethnography studies of EHR workflow.
An early poster applying sequential pattern analysis to nurses’ EHR navigation and documentation. As preliminary work, it set the stage for later, fuller studies of EHR workflow using computational ethnography; detailed findings are reported in the lab’s subsequent publications.
Sequencing reveals how nurses actually use the electronic health record.
An early precursor to later computational ethnography, aimed at improving the record.
